Any motivation is a motivation. Once he's cleared his original goal and money continues coming in, maybe he'll be inspired to do more things with it?
I don't see anything bad in that? You should even be happy.
At the very least, he's responsible enough to get a job so he can pay for it himself
Every time I see ones like these, I think, "unless there is something physically/emotionally/mentally wrong with the child that would cause issues with getting a job or being an adult, it's the parent's fault. He's 24. Either you raised him lazy or you're being an enabler. Time for him to grow up and take care of himself. If he's got that job just to pay for his stuff and not to care for himself, if he still lives with you and could live alone, then put your foot down and tell him he's got x amount of time to get out. Or he'll be 44 and still only paying for a PC. Or whatever we'll have in 20 years.
So? You should be happy that he's paying for his hobbies from his own pocket and not mooching off of you.
32: Paying for his gaming. Not good, bills, etc. So, I think it's safe to say he can definitely still be a mooch if he's not helping out in the household now that he has a job.
I love overwatch. I'm trying to sell my MacBook Air so I could buy a new PC to play overwatch myself
You can't get your million dollar dreams with a minimum wage work ethic.
You can make money playing games if you stream on Twitch
you're never too old for video games
Wouldn't be an fml if he was 16

When you get a job you earn money so you can buy things you need and want. Apparently he's only buying things he wants but it's also his money to do with as he please. Give him a little push and hopefully that'll make him save his money for what he needs.
Does it matter for what reason he's getting a job? Be proud he took the responsiblity to buy his own shit.
