Today, we had a school assembly at 7:00 pm about drinking and driving. There was a cop doing a demonstration of a field sobriety test on stage. I was randomly selected to perform a breathalyzer test in front of all the students and parents. I blew 0.06. FML

That's ridiculous-- you can't say yes because then they'll know you're drunk, and you can't say no because then they'll know you're drunk. Sucks.

To the original poster: I don't believe you at all. It's extremely unlikely that a police officer would perform a breathalyzer randomly and share the results the audience. And, you could have said no. Yes-- even though you were at a school assembly, you could have declined to take the breathalyzer. And to everyone saying that .06 is legal because it's .08: I'm guessing the poster is in the US and younger than 21. It is NOT legal for minors to be drunk, whether they're driving or not. In most states, minors can be ticketed (or arrested) for blowing as low as .02.

not unlikely at all. It was a demonstration. Police officers do it all the time when they are booked to do one for an event. They will also demonstrate cuffs and and stuff in the same way, lets say, a fire fighter would let you try on their uniform to see how heavy it is. i remember in 4th grade a mounted police officer came to my class and we got to try on their puffy pants and belts (minus gun) to see if we could run around in them.

So this whole time I was thinking "you dumbass" until I read #39... if it IS a teacher or parent, then that sucks... not a YDI at all! It was 7 at night. They very well could have gone out after work with friends, had a couple drinks, then gone to the assembly while being legally allowed to drive. But if it's a student at a high school, then yeah... dumbass. (I always imagine the word 'dumbass' as if it were being said by Red Forman off That 70's Show)

MAYBE THEY DIDN'T DRINK. MOUTH WASH HAS ALCOHOL IN IT THAT CAN MAKE THE READING GO UP. THATS WHY IT'S NOT SMART TO USE MOUTHWASH TO COVER UP YOUR DRUNK-NESS.
