well i am 20, will be 21 in may and am now just getting braces. i know in general, people are younger but i feel this comment is a blanket response. I personally feel at my age, I should be allowed to have sex if I choose, and that me having braces should not dictate that.

some people can't help it. I have to get braces again because the idiot orthodontist gave me braces before my jaws were done growing, so they got messed up again. it was no fault of mine.

38, there's this stuff called "money" that you need in order to get braces. Not everyone has enough of this "money" to pay for braces when they are in their teens or whatever, but it turns out that they may still need braces. When they have enough "money" they might want to get braces, no matter how old they are! Go figure.

There are also these people called "parents" who get to decide these sort of things when you're under 18. I've met parents who thought it was a waste of time, a waste of money, with no real pay off in the end. To them, it didn't matter what your teeth looked like, and if they said "Nope, no braces for you" that's all you could do about it. There are even some parents who think that braces are a bad idea because "what if they **** your teeth up even more?"
