Today, my wife and I got in a 4-hour heated argument, which resulted in her begging for a divorce, and admitting that she cheated on me. This all started with us arguing about the instructions for our new IKEA table. FML

Those IKEA instructions can be difficult.

Did you end up putting the table together..?

The table can be put and kept together. But the relationship wont after what she admitted to.

MAYHEM. You probably thought putting this beautiful ikea table would help save your marriage, or protect you from the world outside with it's masterful beauty. Well you may need some marriage counseling. That's Allstate's stand.

Well there was obviously already serious issues if you got into a big argument starting with something like that

Those IKEA instructions can be difficult.

Damn Swedes... Always getting up in people's business!!!

Its just the curse of IKEA. Has nobody ever went to IKEA with their spouce? Its probably the most challenging marridle test ever created by man.

I hope the table is called something like the "Dëvoohrs" or the "Yësïcheäted". Knowing Ikea, it probably is.

I don't agree with cheating no matter what, but the fact you spent four hours fighting over a table.... Theres some problems there besides how to put dumb ikea stuff together

With the way OP wrote it, he made it seem like the argument started with the IKEA table and then escalated.

But I don't think you fight that much about a table if nothing happend before

The fact that y'all cant work together means there obviously were problems in ur marriage.. Such as ur wife cheating and wanting a divorce.. The divorce didn't come about just because of the table argument there were already problems

72# Damn. I'll send you a Dictionary, Thesaurus, 10 copies of Great Expectations, and a elementary english teacher as soon as you give me an address. The extra copies are in case you get frustrated and rip the book up. I'll even pay shipping. My god, I am a dick sometimes.

#77 That is funny that you care to correct 72 when you don't even put an after and. Talk about grammar nazi fail.

We need to all be careful of who we are marrying so we don't have a wedding with a cheater. I don't like it either. I am glad they made a show about it to put expose people on tv.

See guys? This is what IKEA does to relationships. Those bastards.

You both sound like such mature, reasonable people. If putting a table together is such a cause for conflict, imagine what the rest of your lives would have been like.

So ****** true, lucky you found out early

Haha very true...next thing you see they fighting over who's cooking dinner

Well, we don't know if it's early in their marriage. They could have been torturing each other for 20 years.

If a simple table can lead into such a big issue then maybe it's best to split than to be in a bad relationship.

IKEA stuff is hard to put together. Some people here just don't know

My guess is that when you showed her the pictogram of an Allen wrench turning a locking cam, she thought it was a photo of her sucking the other guy's ****. Either(ee) that, or she's developed a fetish for Swedish Meatballs.
