Lawman

Today, my boss in my police department told me to start enforcing the "No bikes on sidewalks" law, which we usually ignore. I pulled up behind the first person I saw riding a bike on a sidewalk and flashed my lights. It turned out to be a boy with Down's syndrome, who was so upset he cried and peed. FML

wow, that really sucks. its not your fault at all, how were you to know that the kid had down syndrome? You were just doing your job. Don't worry about it man

You shouldn't feel bad about enforcing the law, and you should definitely tell your boss what happened.

I wish they would enforce this law where I live, but I'm not sure there is even such a law in my country. Anyway, there is that bitch in my neighborhood who keeps riding on the sidewalk even though there is nearly no traffic on the roads, and she always rings the bell of her bike to get pedestrians to move out of her way when she tries to pass them from behind. Now I don't really mind moving two steps to the side, but: - Her bell makes little to no noise, nobody ever notices it. - She won't roll on the grass strip between the road and the sidewalk either (guess she's afraid to get her wheels dirty or something, oh and her bike is not a city bike, it's fit for rolling on grass or dirt). - She starts to bitch if you don't notice her coming behind you and don't move to the side. - She is always expecting pedestrians to move to the side on time, and if they don't she breaks at the last moment. More than once I have seen her breaking a few inches away from a pedestrian. But 1 year ago I got lucky and got a video of her learning to ride a bike, falling and starting to cry (she's about 30!), so next time she pisses me off it ends up on youtube. Not that I find that video funny, but I know youtubers will, and I'm not ashamed to teach her a lesson that way seeing at how dangerous she is on a bike. If I'm in a good mood, I'll give her a warning before I post it.

#130-Just because he has down syndrome, it doesn't mean he absolutely needs constant supervision (really just depends on the severity of the syndrome). He also might have been right in front of his own house or very close by.

a bike lane is really useful but, if you're on a really busy street, like broadway or whatever sidewalks should be ok drivers coming home from work or going to work are very aggressive and dangerous

That's not your fault. You can't tell from the back that he has down syndrome. As long as you treated him kindly after you realized his condition, there's no reason to feel too guilty.

FML piss on me, I'm a cop. I have to inforce stupid laws. You make a retard cry, you feel bad. Bust a guy with a growlab, do you still feel bad. Is it a suprise that getting harrassed by the cops is scarry? You guys kill people, ruin peoples lives, and hurt true victims. Laws about where we can and can't ride our bikes? Laws about what kinds of plants we can own? Rules that keep the cat fat. You are a hired gun. An armed bully. A thug inforcer. No freedom in a para-military police state. And it is your fault. Please post that on YouTube. Please. I ride bikes. I still think you should post it. And don't warn her, she sounds horrible.
