Not so tech savvy

Today, I called Tech Support because the computer program wouldn't let me open files for my online classes. After an hour, and being walked through the downloading process multiple times. There was a pause and he said, "You're a fucking idiot." and hung up. It still won't work. FML

RhymePrime- hahaha6(#40) has been made aware of his/her error, and has very graciously conceded the point.

I agree with number 12. If you can't figure out how to open files on your computer than why the hell are you taking an online course? YFDI.

That was very unprofessional. If he was that frustrated with you, he should have transferred you to a another Tech or Supervisor. I would call back and complain. Even if it was a step you missed or didn't understand, you don't deserve to be treated that way.

I work tech support, and while I think he was being rude to you, I can't imagine having to spend an hour on fixing a problem like that. In order for that to happen there must have been a misunderstanding between you two somewhere along the line, because no tech call should take longer than 20 minutes, in the years I've been doing it. I think you kind of deserved it, but that's based on my own experience with clueless customers who can't grasp simple concepts. I do think he was needlessly rude to you though. Most of us tech people have pretty amazing patience if you consider how many people we have to support who are just as bad if not worse.

What's with people thinking the tech guy should be fired just for getting angry with one customer? I could see a reprimand or even a suspension, but people need to pull their heads out of their asses and stop thinking themselves so important that anyone who is the least bit terse with them deserves to lose their job. People working in Tech Support have to deal with stupid problems all day. Between equipment not being plugged in or turned on and people who can't follow instructions on screen, it makes one rather irritable.

At what point do you begin to ask your self the real question: Maybe he's right.

Well maybe if you understood it the first time, he wouldn't have had to call you a ******* idiot. YDI...

That's probably because you are a ******* retard.
