No. Being gay is not a choice. Why would anyone voluntarily give up rights in this country, risk their personal safety, and face ridicule and torment to be trendy? No-one chose to be attracted to the same sex. The only choice you make is to come out of the closet. You choose to have consensual sex with someone of the same gender. Same as a straight person does when they choose to have sex with a member of the opposite sex. Choices are made, yes, but that root of those choices cannot be controlled or changed.

It is genetic. About 8 weeks into the development of a baby, your estrogen and testosterone levels are set in the brain, which can and has been tested and proven to determine if a person will be masculine/feminine, gay/bi/straight/poly/transgender/whatever. Try checking out the National Geographic channel, or a science network in general. Or the easiest thing: just look around you. Do you think the five year old boy running around your church or whatever with a doll choose to be that way? Would they even know the difference? Of course not, because genetics have made it an intuition of theirs to behave in certain ways. Logic is great.

First off let me say this: I do not believe in God. Period. Religion does not make any sense to me at all. Religion and money are the root of all hate. The majority of wars start because of religious differences. The world would be a better place if everyone in the whole freaking planet believed in the same exact religion (but sorry guys, that's not going to happen) or if no one believed in God and simply cherished the time they have on this planet. Are you honestly saying a five year old boy is gay for playing with dolls? Does that mean my boy-crazy younger sister is secretly a lesbian because she hated Barbies and was obsessed with dinosaurs? Unfortunately, you have given a concrete example that has never been fully proven. Or partially proven. It's a myth that having higher testosterone levels in utero makes you gay (the old, if your ring finger is longer than your index finger, you're a lesbian-trick). You're still making it sound as if everyone is innately heterosexual unless something "goes wrong."

It's not so much as "my girlfriend wasnt a lesbian anymore" asit is "my girlfriend was pretending to be a lesbian that whole time" And yeah the others like it are too. It's not a choice. *pretending* to be a lesbian is something any girl can do.
