ever heard of planned parenthood? if you don't make enough money to buy yourself BC, they basically give it to you for FREE YDI I hope you are a more responsible mother then you are a woman. and #17, you are prolly either sterile or the girls who let you touch them are smart enough to be using BC and not telling you.
#27, Planned Parentood does not give away free oral contraceptives, just condoms. A hidden clause in a congressional debt reduction bill during Bush's term actually raised the price of birth control pills to something like $40 a pack. I'm glad nobody here is debating the merit of Natural Family Planning. Even God knows taking your temperature beforehand doesn't change the fact that you're using the pull-out method at its most elaborate. It still fails!
I think it may depend on where you live? Mine give them away for free, but you have to be under their kind of "insurance" program, and you do not pay to be in that program, you just have to qualify.
If you're a minor they still give you birth control for free as long as you get a check up with them first.
#53, you are either haver insurance that pays for part of it, or your brand of BC happens to be an inexpensive one. the Planned Parenthood by me only carries Ortho Tri-Cyclen, and it is $12 for those under 18 and $24 if you are over 18. I elected to tell my mother I was sexually active rather than dropping $40 on the office visit to get prescribed and $24 a month for a BC that may not mix well with my body anyway (oftentimes girls will change BC brands because a certain brand will give them bad symptoms or will mix poorly with other medication they are on) So now I am on Lo Estrin24, it is great, but depending on where the prescription is filled it can cost up to $70 a month because my insurance won't cover a penny of it (incidentally, if I were a man and wanted to go on Viagra, it would cover it in full). I usually get it for about $50 at Wal-Mart, but recently my gyno gave me a card that will get me a further discount, but it will still cost around $25.
It basically depends where you are, pharmacies and Planned Parenthood speaking (and also insurance). I know of Planned Parenthoods that DO give out pills for free to minors and college students, and some pharmacies and types of the Pill can only cost $9/month. But there is NO fixed price--that is a complete myth. The pharmaceutical companies are way too powerful for governmental price fixing.
Yeah. insurance companies do some weird bullshit. The insurance my mom and sisters have wont pay for a surgery my sister needs. If she doesn't get it before her first period she'll never be able to have kids. But because its not seriously detrimental to her heath the insurance says no. If my mom made $1000 less a year she would qualify for a different insurance that would cover the surgery. They expect that extra thousand a year to cover a procedure that'll cost a lot more than that in various ways (the actual surgery, the room at the hospital, the many post-op check ups, etc.)
I was a pulling out baby. Its not that effective.
Will someone tell me WHY they PG-ed this site up. Intimacy? Your life sucks? WHY WHY WHY! Oh and YDI (or I guess YTDI?!?!?!?!?!). That's a stupid method of birthcontrol. Use a condom
Intimacy covers a wider range of topics than just 'Sex'?
Yeah, they have miscellaneous too, why have anything else?
pulling out doesn't work, YDI. ever heard of pre-cum?
YDI. Every ass knows that pulling out is'nt safe at all. It's the most stupid thing to do, especially if you don't want kids.. Ever heard about condoms?
geez. you guys are harsh. pull and pray really isn't effective, but along with BC you really don't need another back up method. however, this girl should have talked with her jackass boyfriend more about what she wanted and expected from him. if he didn't pull out....he better be around when that baby comes.
well FYL for being pregnant and trusting your boyfriend but i say YDI for not using condom and such. you should know better. and take care of the baby please. dont treat him/her like a mistake
you've got a rough road ahead my dear

YDI for not using proper contraception!! No sympathy!!
pulling out doesn't work. I guess sex-ed in Utah still doesn't work either.
