Pulling out DOES NOT WORK. If the OP was worried about her parents knowing, she could've gotten her bf to out and buy condoms.
you've got a tough road ahead my dear
it's called CONDOMS.... didn't they teach anything in sex ed. YDI
OMG... Some of males semen comes out during the sex, not just when ejaculating. "Pulling out" as a birth control is as effective and wise method as protecting your self from STD's by "washing your genitalia after sex". Jeez... OP should get abortion and get vasectomy ASAP, she's clearly not meant to reproduce.
Or hysterectomy, where they take the parts out for women.
YDI for not using protection. You're lucky you didn't get an STD. After you've dealt with this (no matter what you do, it's your choice right now under the law), go visit Planned Parenthood for information on birth control.
YDI for having sex no form of contraception is 100% apart from abstinence. If you don't want to get pregnant and can't support a child, because there always is a small possibilty you can get pregnant using contraception, don't have sex. simple as. and you're just a plain idiot because the pull out method is like using NO contraception at all.
The abstinence thing is a bit of a myth...you can also engage in anal sex, oral sex, mutual masturbation, frottage, all sorts of stuff. And studies have proven, beyond any doubt, that kids who receive abstinence-only sex ed are actually MORE likely to have sex and get pregnant while still teens.
I've had all the education about contraception and what not but I'm saying that ^ from what I've learned and seen in society don't have sex if you're not the least bit ready to support a child especially if you're still living with your parents so you can't look after yourself nevermind a baby. Even if you use contraception there's still a minute possibility that you could still get pregnant. everyone always says "be in control of your own body blah blah" but no one really is.
The abstinance thing is a myth? Really? Please tell me you were kidding or that i misunderstood. PLEASE. seriously. for one I'd like to be told i was wrong. ABSTINANCE IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO NOT GET PREGNANT! abstinance only education is bullshit, i agree with you there, HOWEVER abstinance only education is a lot different from actually practiving abstinance. abstinace works. the fact that abstinance only education is failing means people are having sex anyways and they just dont know abotu birth control.
"people who hate abstinence only education" You mean people that have respect for proper education and are aware of reality? Regardless, states that teach abstinence only do have higher teen pregnancy rates. It's not surprising, nor should it be. Teenagers will have sex no matter what, and teenagers that are informed of proper contraception are more likely to use it than teenagers who aren't.
Most people that *I* know that hate abstinence only education don't hate it because of the religious aspect, but because of hte fact that a lot of kids don't listen. And then they say "When will teh stupid *religious* people stop teaching stuff that doesnt work?" In other words. They hate religion and use Abstinence only education as an example of religious failure. They dont hate abstinence because of the religious side of it. Or else I just happen to meet the same kinds of people over and over.
In the US, any woman, regardless of income, can get birth control for free through the governments family planning services. YDI because even if he pulled out quickly, you could still get pregnant. Haven't you ever heard of pre-ejaculation. Its covered in 7th grade health class - just how young are you?
i think 59 meant that the low success rate of the withdrawal method was covered in health class (although my understanding is that not all american schools actually do cover this?), not that birth control was necessarily available from health class.
I didn't say you got it through school - you get it through the governments family planning service. Its your choice whether you go to planned parenthood or a pharmacy, but once you sign up for the service, your birth control is free. Cost of pills isn't an issue for any female in the US *Yes I meant sperm in the pre-ejaculation is covered in the national teaching standards for health class, so unless this girl is a pre-teen or skipping classes, she had learned about this in school before she became an age where it would be reasonable to be sexually active
I wouldn't say its "lucky" that she didn't get an STD. It's wonderful adn good for ehr that she didnt, but I don't think luck has anything to do with it. Lot of couples don't use condoms because they are FAITHFUL. Just because they're both idiots and thought the pull out method would be effective enough, doesnt mean they're going to end up with STD's. So long as neither had one to start with, and neither cheats, sex without a condom is spretty safe in terms of STD's. basically what i'm saying is "STD's have to start somewhere. They dont just apprear magically cause someone had sex without a condom."
