I think the apple idea is cute and sweet -- as someone mentioned earlier, a symbol of knowledge. I graduate in a week and I think that I should be GIVING my parents something for all the emotional support they've provided. I don't expect anything from them for graduating besides a 'congratulations' -- I just feel thankful that they're able to come to the ceremony.

I have never gotten a gift from either of my parents for any graduation or accomplishment, ever. It sucks. I hope they helped you with school. Mine didn't.
