Today, I had to leave the movie theater early because I couldn't fit in the chairs. I guess I'll see it when it comes out on DVD. FML

I would say you deserve it, but we don't know the circumstances here. So in the nicest way possible, let this be motivation to lose weight. Do it the healthy way and you can only benefit. Good luck! :)

If I'm honest it's a YDI, although the seats could be small in general...

Sorry to say But this made my day Someone who is that fat I'd like to see jiggle that. Its ok, I'm sure you'll be fine Just use butter to grease up the seats next time

it is really sad. and, seriously, i dont know what's the reason for not fitting in the chairs, but if you're overweight, there's always a medical reason for it. no one wants to be overweight. but, dont worry OP stay calm. dont let these things take you into deppresion. :)

Sadly to say there isn't always a medical reason. There are people who are big because of what they eat. Also, some people who are big are happy with themselves and understand that some things are restricted due to their size, if it's causing medical problems then I suggest OP loses weight, if not, then it's OPs decision as to whether they want to do it.

It's a movie theater if u ask me they should have lazy boy recliners with drink holders u dnt have to share arm Rest with neighbors and so what if u r big BIG people like movies TOO!!

Doing more exercises, then you will find a right seat.

Aside from the idea of waiting for it to come out on DVD so that you can watch it, I hope the thought of exercising also crossed your mind.

Wow, I'm really surprised that so many people here are actually defending being overweight. Yeah, there's a chance that is a medical issue, but to be honest, that's a small one and I also think OP would have mentionned it if it was the case. The majority of fat-asses (oh noezz, I'm rude and disrespectful and mean) has made their own ass fat. It seems safe to me to vote YDI.

Nature isn't everything. Nurture plays a pretty big role too. Genetics can give you a predisposition for a slow metabolism but it rarely makes you fat. You just have to work a little harder if genetics are playing against you.

PYLrulz 17

Exactly. If you got a slow metabolism, then eat less, and work out more. Nobody is forcing you to eat extra cheeseburgers or pizzas.

Are any of you genetically inclined to be fat? No? I didn't think so. A 1300 calorie a day diet including fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean protein combined with working out 4 days a week you would think would make someone lose weight, right? Wrong. Some people are genetically inclined to be bigger and no matter what you do you can't change that. The diet and exercise I described was my life for 8 months. I lost 25 lbs in the first 3 and could not lose a single pound more after that. I'm naturally not supposed to be below 175 and no matter how healthy I eat or how active I am I can't get below that. If I go above 1300 calories a day, I put on weight instantly. So all you skinny people say whatever you want but that's the reality for a lot of people. Some fat people do eat nothing but healthy with no results whatsoever so stop judging.

I used to be overweight. I lost 40 pounds then plateaued. I know what that's like. I was basically on the same diet but diet isn't everything. You just have to figure out how to change up your exercise to fit the way your body's changing.

MissHayleyJames 7

I've done everything from a mix of cardio and weight training to kick boxing to zumba to pilates. I've done it all and nothing would get me below 175. I spent 5 months eating different foods (while maintaining 1300 calories), and changing up my workouts. Absolutely no change whatsoever. I finally got so unbelievably sick of it that I just said screw it. I still work out several times a week, I still eat mainly healthy but now I eat closer to 1600 calories a day so that I can actually enjoy food and have some sort of flavor in my diet. That alone put back on 20 lbs. I've just accepted it. I might have surgery one day to get rid of some of the weight, but until then I'll happily be a size 14 instead of torturing myself to fight a losing battle.

But have you tried high intensity interval training such as peak 8?? I highly recommend that you try it.

MissHayleyJames 7

I have done interval training. When I do cardio at the gym I usually do interval training. Interval training is good for your heart but it doesn't mean jack when it comes to weight loss for a lot of people. I don't work out with weight loss as a goal in mind at all. If I did there would be no point to working out because it ain't gonna happen. The only reason I work out is just to keep my heart a little healthier.

Try a nutritionist or a trainer. No one has a set range for how much they can weigh. Something you're doing must be wrong or you could have a disease but genetics aren't what's keeping you at the same weight.

MissHayleyJames 7

My husband is a trainer. I've been to doctors. All the tests are normal. There's nothing wrong with my thyroid. There's nothing wrong with anything. It's genetics. My father is the same way. He can only get down to a certain weight and no amount of dieting or working out will over come that. His mother has that same problem. That's just the reality for some people.

Hey #262 I don't necessarily disagree with the theory you stated but I am wondering if are you tall like 6.6 or short like 5.0 feet I think that's something to consider when thinking about bodyweight. FYI I'm 5.10 at 150 pounds and I think that is kinda "average".

MissHayleyJames 7

I'm a nice average 5'6 lol. 175 is the lowest I can get and it's still overweight for my height.

The problem with our society is trying to get everyone one in a stupid frame of model , I mean the only negative thing about being fat is the health issues ( like heart attack ) however , our stupid society always associate Being fat with being ugly , so if you are not largely overweight then. Screw anyone who tell you to loss wight or exercise .

I agree with this! If someone is happy being on the bigger side leave them be! If it causes medical problems (like heart attack risks) then the said person should exercise until they're comfortable but healthy! And YES that can mean curvy! This media obsessed society should see 'model skinny' is not good!

Finally, a logical comment. Its also worth noting that skinny people aren't always healthy either.

There's a difference with being curvy and being obese. I'm curvy and I fit in movie theater chairs just fine. As far as health problems being the "only" negative effect, that's a pretty significant issue. And fatter people generally are less attractive. While skinny people can be unhealthy and unattractive as well, who would you consider more attractive: a person of average weight or a person who's overweight? And if you pick the overweight person you're either a liar or a rare breed....

195, I didn't say there's no difference I meant if there's health problems included then said person should exercise and eat healthier. I mean if they were happy being bigger exercise yourself to a curvy figure cus not everyone wants to be skinny. Also, you gave me the option of an average weight person (which normally means they have a healthy appearance) and an overweight person. Of course most people would choose average. But if the choice had been an underweight person and an overweight person the result would be different. Bigger people aren't 'generally not attractive', if true that comment goes for people with eating disorders that make them smaller. We live in a ****** up world where appearance is quickly becoming 'everything' and it's wrong!

I said generally less attractive. Yes, the way the world works sucks but appearance will always matter. I only gave the option of average versus fat because thats the issue we're discussing and I'm also against the industry of underweight people. There's an ideal healthy weight for every height and that's what I think people should strive for, not the stick thin celebrities that so many look up to and want to look like. As far as the health part, I was mostly addressing the original commenter.

Very well said mrpryamids. Screw anyone who says anything about your appearance as they are just showing how shallow they are. Not everyone is a model and not everyone's goal is to look like one. I'm sorry you didn't fit in the chairs but don't let that get you down. Maybe try another theatre.
