Today, I saw a cute girl working register at my regular coffee shop and politely asked the her for her number. I was brutally rejected. A few minutes later, a douchebag with a popped collar approached her with a cheesy pickup line and left with not only her number, but a free frappe. FML

Sounds like OP threw in a "May I please have your telephone number" after ordering coffee. Unless you're famous, that's probably not going to work very well.

From reading all of these comments, I've come to the following conclusions: 1) The girl is really hot with a nice body. 2) The so-called "douchebag" is most likely equally attractive as her and probably has a lot of swagger (thus him getting her number and the free drink). 3) You, the OP, are probably either chubby or not chubby and have no swag; thus, your awkward personality and so-called "nice guy" attitude got you nowhere because you're probably arrogant and have a sense of entitlement that makes you unattractive. Long story short, get in the gym, change your style, and get some swag (because you obviously need some).
