Today, I went to my weekly AA meeting. It was a huge crowd and I was the guest speaker. Not 5 minutes into my speech, I was booed off stage and banned from further attendance because I accidentally wore a Jack Daniel's shirt. FML

From attending my fair share of 12-step meetings, you don't get "banned" or booed for making a mistake. I doubt a meeting would ban you if you went there weekly. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using; at least where I live, banning doesn't exist as it could jeopardize one's recovery.

How do you accidentally wear that tshirt when you're an ex alcoholic? Anything like that would be an influence even on you, let alone others. Surprised you didn't get knocked out, I would of done it gladly. Massive YDI.
