Today, my apartment building shut off our water for a short period of time because the pipes were being worked on. It was also the morning my dog had diarrhea on my cream carpet. Not only did I have to clean it up without water, I couldn't wash my hands afterward. FML

I thought it was a given that just about everyone has bottled water or even a jug of tap water in the fridge. If not, you could have gone out and bought a gallon for under a dollar :)

You always have a few gallons of water in the tank of your toilet that can be used in an emergency. it's cold but it's clean!

For real. The water in your toilet is the exact same water you get from your sink and shower; it's just in your toilet. If you keep your toilet clean, it shouldn't even be that contaminated.

lmao your comment made me laugh so frigging hard....XD But in all seriousness, OP, I know how gross it is to have to clean up after one's dog even when one has water. But the people saying you could have found another water source or used something other than water (like carpet cleaning liquids, duh) are right too. It goes both ways. :/
