Today, the couple with three noisy toddlers in the apartment above mine finally moved out. A couple with a non-stop crying newborn moved in. FML

I would prefer the newborn over the three toddlers. At least there's a little bit of quiet versus no quiet at all

complain to the management. regardless of newborn there are rules about noise and they can be evicted

Crying babies do not fall into an excessive noise ordinance. Get some earplugs, OP. I guarantee that the noise bothers the parents ten times more than it does you. Babies DO NOT cry nonstop. They need sleep Luke every other human.

People choose to live wherever they want to live: houses, apartments, condos, townhouses, duplexes, cars, tents, RVs, hotels, igloos, compounds, caves, cabins, cottages, bungalows, under bridges, in trees, etc . . . Even people who don't earn that much money can find roommates and move into a house and share expenses. Heck! That's was cheaper for me to pay $200 in rent each month to live with 3 other people in a house than to pay over $600 in a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment by myself. You may have a decrease in privacy, but at least an increase in monthly savings.

If it's a newborn, hopefully it will stop crying soon, and then you will have a short time of wondrous quiet before the baby gets to the loud toddler stage!
