#60 - noone ever said it was the closest person to her in her life. you've got no idea what her relationship with her father was like she had a appointment and so he had good reason to be calling her, obviously its sad that her father died, but she shouldn't have dealt with it like she did. she's doing buisiness with someone, and it's not good for her to treat a customer like that, regardless of the situation,
Yah that was a bitch move by her. Obviously it is sad that her father died and she has the right to mourn, but you didn't know that, you had an appoiuntment and she didn't show up. So she is pretty much a bitch.
Hey now, no need to call her a bitch, #66. Her father just passed away, imagine it was you in that situation, maybe the appointment slipped her mind after the incident.
Yeah, it's not your fault. Don't feel bad.
I actually had a similar experience: last year, my friend and I were looking for houses & apartments. We really liked the first place we looked at with a realtor, but couldn't sign right away because she was out of papers. So we told her very soon after that we were ready to give her a deposit. We filled out the applications and submitted them, but we didn't hear back from her for about a week. Turns out her daughter had died. She was in her 30s. Obviously, we understood and gave her some space; but we still didn't have an answer on the house. After a grace period, we started calling again. Never heard back. She definitely gave it to someone, though. We drove by a few times and saw cars parked, lights on in the house. I understand that the woman's life was basically destroyed, but at least have someone else take care of your clients.
Plain and simple, it's an awkward situation - although I can't imagine what she was feeling, all she would have had to do was answer the phone the first time and say so - wouldn't have to be a big explanation or anything she could just spit it out and hang up. Otherwise how are you to know? Especially nowadays, people are so inconsiderate it wouldn't be far fetched to assume someone was just being inconsiderate and late. I often have to call friends multiple times to get them to answer their phone, so a landlord (notoriously difficult people) is no different.
woah for all those people who said she's a bitch you've obviously never lost anyone close to you. hopefully later on, you guys can get over it, and she'll admit that it was a tough time and she was just irritated with life. but you call once, leave a message. and if you must call one more time. but that's it. if you have an appt. and she doesn't show, obviously something happened.

thats not really a fml, how were you supposed to know? most people would do the same if someone didn't show when they were supposed to. Don't feel bad!
She was very rude considering you had no idea what had happened and she was still the one breaking her appointment without notification.
