Today, I found out that instead of having four wisdom teeth, I have eight. They all have to be removed as soon as possible, which happens to be over the Christmas break. I get to spend my whole vacation in excruciating pain and a swollen face to boot. FML

& there's "sumthing" called spell-check. :)

Sorry, OP! That's an unfortunate anomaly. :(

The recovery process is not too bad. I was in pretty good condition 3 days after having 4 wisdom teeth taken out. I many many times would have prefered have the procedure done during break than during the college semester, i wasn't able to attend class nor do homework at home!

I hope that whoever will be taking your teeth out knows what he/she is doing! I have friends who had less wisdom teeth taken out than me, but they went through more pain than what I did. Sure, mines was more costly, but it was worth it (at least I stopped bleeding by the time I got home while they bled for days). But I guess you can look at it on the bright side? You are getting them all taken out at once, and you have the time to rest. It is much better than doing it during the school year (or work, or whatever your status is) in my opinion.

Been there, done that. Over christmas. I lost 12 pounds, and I was only 145 to begin with. Haha. That's because the meds make you loopy. I thought food was trying to eat ME...so I didn't eat it.

To those going "Oh I know your pain I had four blah blah blah." TRY HAVING EIGHT! I had the same rare condition too. My orthodontist said that in his fifty years of doing work as a surgeon, he'd never seen it before. You and I are a rare breed, OP.

It's really not that bad if you get them out early enough, Op. I had to have mine out at the very beginning of my summer break after freshman year of high school. If your teeth aren't fully grown in, yet, it's not that bad. Make sure you have ice packs for your cheeks. I used them, and the swelling went down after just a couple days, even though I had all 4 teeth out.

I had six wisdom teeth, it wasn't bad I just made sure I would be asleep for it.
