Today, I switched cell phone service providers, hoping to upgrade. After working out the details and picking a phone in the store, I got home to find my brand new cell can't get a signal in my house. I already signed the two year contract. FML

There's a 30 day trial period. You deserved this for not reading your contract! Return the phone and switch providers

call your service provider and ask them how to update your phone so you can hit more towers and get a stronger signal.

I work at a carrier store. You can use wifi calling or get a signal booster for inside your house. Your sales rep should have been smart and checked your coverage before they sold you the phone. Did you go to a carrier store or a 3rd party?

86, If you really are a sales rep you therefore know that the coverage maps are not 100% accurate and everyone eventually gets a customer who has no coverage despite checking. Maybe you're new to this...

I think some service providers have like a 30-trial even if u sign the contract! check.that out!!!

There should be a 30 day guarantee on any service like that...

If you don't pay the first bill, it's automatically voids the contract. At least that's how it is if you buy a car, so I'm not positive about a cell phone.

Note to anyone trying this with a car: it's not true.

How depressing that the comment actually got a thumbs up from some idiot.

You have so many days to return the phone and still back out of the contract I think it's 30 days but it might be just the phone

I work for AT&T... With them you have 30 days to cancel... Almost all other service providers say 14 days.... So you should be able to cancel the agreement

Sort of know how you feel. I have Verizon. They expect us to get a signal on top of Mt Everest, or in some random Egyptian desert. I can't even get a signal in my own basement... -.-

Take it back to the store and cancel the contract, you get about the first 14 days or 30 days to go back to the store with the phone and can cancel the contract, as long as the phone hasn't been scratched. I've done it myself a few times, gogo, return quickly!! :))
