Today, I was playing with my dog, teasing her, to cheer myself up after being dumped by my girlfriend. My dog bit me hard and I had to go to hospital. The dog has to be put down. FML

Learn some ******* reading comprehension idiot. Teasing a dog is normal play, though sometimes they're just not in the mood and they snap. Clearly, the dog snapped and the OP had to go to the hospital for stitches. I really doubt they went around town telling everyone their dog viciously attacked them.

If an animal attacks someone, depending on the circumstances and the area, some laws require the animal to be put down. It could have been ordered by the law to happen. :/

People are so protective of dogs. Honestly I think pets should be outlawed and all the money wasted on pets should be spent on real human beings that are suffering in the world. All the ******* PETA in the world need to realize that humans are much more important than any animal.

In fact, the majority of us spend our lives damaging this planet. I'm sure it would be a lot better off without the human race.

Your comment is fairly contradictory. You can't call someone else an ignorant moron when you're ignorant of evolution. Humans and animals (as in animals other than humans) do not exhibit sapience, hence the scientific term for humans, **** sapien. Animals exhibit a lesser sense of emotion. Everything the human is is a culmination of biologically inherited traits that make us the dominant species on this planet. That is why we have the potential to destroy entire species systematically through artificial means, and that is, unfortunately, also our downfall. But I digress. Getting back to the point, humans and animals are not the same, humans are biologically superior when it comes to intelligence. No animal has the ability to reason. Think of it this way, you can't compare a protist to an animal and say they are equal.

I'm not saying they're biologically or evolutionarily the same, I'm saying they have equal rights to respect and to be treated humanely. I'm saying neither is superior to the other in the sense that neither is 'better' than the other. For me, ending a dog's life is no different to ending a human's life. And no, I'm not some PETA fanatic, just utterly sick of the animal cruelty and neglect in this world.

tbh what's the point of having a dog if it bites you everytime you play with it. it's not always the persons fault my neighbors dog gets very aggressive for no reason if you go Anywhere near it while it has a sock or something and has bit me for no reason before.

I'm a vet tech and also run pittie foster programs. as of this point in time there are no states requiring euthanasia for dog bites to owner. either he decided to do it or his parents did. however breed specific legislation laws in certain states will enforce dangerous dog laws ie has to be labeled dangerous dog etc. most likely this person is either lying or they are too useless of a person and didn't tell mommy that they were harassing the dog. if the person is posting on here I highly doubt they got bit too bad - prolly some 13yr old jerk kid never taught to play nice with animals. :( pathetic

Something tells me you mean states as in U.S. states. Considering the OP is from Australia, your argument probably holds absolutely no water. Prove that those euthanasia laws you stated (without proof) exist in Australia and maybe your argument will be persuasive. As of now, though, you just sound like an idiot.

yupp it's sad that they euthanize dogs once they bite. I know a person who's dog was being taunted and teased so it bit someone, they still has to have it put down.
