I wouldn't put it past apple to do that.
First world problems.
They're not really geniuses
Irony is fun. Should've bought an Android device, apparently.
How dare they? There should be some kind of centralized, massive network of information that they can use instead. You know, something where they could access information about past incidents of people who have had similar problems and the solutions they reached. oh, wait
You mean like, the internet?
When a customer buys an item as obnoxiously expensive as the Apple products are, the minimum is to provide a decent customer service
Inter.... net? What is this... inter-netting thing you speak of, dunebro?
What is happening
Google doesn't give stupid advice! :o
Really? Last time I was at the Apple store trying to get something fixed, the guy at the Genius Bar looked at my iPod for like five seconds and then just have me a new one.
That's always what has happened for me too. I have never had a bad experience at my store.
I would have googled it first, and see if that helped first. But that is because the closest apple store is 3.5 hours away.
Though its ridiculous that they gave up (THEY could have googled it without telling you and fixed it), I understand why they said this. Apple doesn't have a search engine, no matter what they're going to be directing you to a competitor, and they may as well choose one of the two best one instead of saying "Why don't you Ask Jeeves?". That would make then sound like idiots.
Keywords
Perhaps they're not really Apple Geniuses, but rather the meme kind.
Interesting, since google and apple are now rival companies. Anyway I hope you figure it out Op
