Today, my grandfather was counting all the grandchildren he had and saying how fortunate he was to have all of us. When I pointed out that he'd forgotten to count me, he turned and said "You're adopted, you don't count as a real grandchild" FML

Today, I was on the phone with my boyfriend. We were messing around and I always jokingly say, "You're adopted, nobody loves you!" to everybody. His reply, "That's pretty fucked up, I am adopted." He really was. FML

Today, my dad justified leaving two of my three kids out of his will because they’re adopted and so not really his proper grandchildren, telling me I can’t seriously expect him to just give his money to people who aren’t real family members. FML

Today, a guy in my class was talking about himself. He started his story with, "When I was little, I was a ginger." I replied without thinking, "Is that why you got put up for adoption?" Him being adopted was the actual story he wanted to tell. FML

Today, I found out that the man I called grandpa for 40 years is really my dad. My drunk aunt spilled the beans. Her exact words were, "My dad is a better dad to you than he EVER was to me! You never wondered why he treated you better than his other grandchildren? You're his son!" FML

I was adopted by my grandparents because my real parents were jackasses but the people who raise you they are your parents and your familey your grandpa is a real ass.

well, that's what happens when you get old and have shouldered all of life's hardships and are tired of bending backwards to accomodate for societies "moralities". in other words, old people speak their mind. so what if he doesn't accept you as his grandchild, your parents adopted you, he didn't. if your dad remarries when you are 45, the new lady doesn't have to be your mother, you are not biologically related, there isn't even that much interraction between you two around that age anyways, why shouldn't the same logic apply here? nevertheless, your grandpa is a ****. you should stop calling him grandpa and show no respect, and treat him like shit. give him a taste of your his own medicine.
