Why does everyone assume the OP was playing on the phone? I'm not saying it's not likely, but it's honestly a lot more common for a student to forget to silence their phone that playing "pass the note" with their friends. Stop assuming every school kid is some ungrateful brat trying to "stick it to the man". Sometimes it's the adult's fault, y'know.
Exactly we don't know if he actually had it out and It went off in his bag or if he was on it!
Shit happens
Lol
Someones getting an A, or a new IPhone
1 shouldn't have had it in class. 2 having an iPhone without a case is like buying a car without insurance. One of the stupidest things you could ever do.
Geez people, get off your high horses. We all have used our phones in inappropriate times and places at least once. I'm sure if someone did damage to your $500+ dollar phone it'd be a different tune. Talk about the crime not matching the punishment. Hopefully the teacher will be responsible about fixing it. If it were me I wouldn't give em much choice =)

Make sure she pays for that
You probably could make her pay for it. Sure you weren't supposed to be using it in class, but that deserved confiscating, not BREAKING. (Also don't they have cases and stuff that you can get so that kind of shit doesn't happen? Otter box or something?)
