Is it just me or are there many times more food intolerant people lately than there used to be?
That's because there are many times more products (such as wheat/gluten) being shoved into processed foods when they don't need to be and people are developing an intolerance from it.
Get udi's bread for her. It actually tastes good
UDI'S IS YUMMY! Everybody Eats is also a great bakery, i used to order bread, bagels, etc.. from there until a bakery opened near me.
Me and my mom are gluten intolerant and we eat plenty of baked goods. Wheat and a couple other flours contain gluten, but not all flours such as oat flower, quinoa flour and tapioca flour.
Exactly ! Plus quinoa spaghettis are super yummi !
as a person with celiac disease i do sympathize. just be glad you caught it early. they found it on me at 20. its harder to change how you eat at a later stage in life.
^ While I do agree with you completely, the other side of it is if you get diagnosed very young, you don't remember or know what a lot of foods taste like. My brother got diagnosed with CD when he was 5, and has no idea what beer tastes like, plus a lot of other foods. Maybe it's easier for him to not know what he's missing out on, but he gets reminded all the time seeing other people eat that there is foods out there he'll never know about. (Just like you do now, I suppose.) I guess you can tell me better which is worse. Knowing and not having? Or never knowing and being constantly reminded of it?
Knowing is worse. I was diagnosed at 23, I have food envy. My son was diagnosed at 1, he knows to avoid gluten and tells people that certain foods make him sick but doesn't crave them. Sort of the same way I don't envy people who eat chicken feet or tripe or octopus. I've never had it, I don't care if other people eat it, I don't know what I'm missing.
It def is! Sucks man.
Ok. First of all, to everyone who says "more like 'F your daughter's life'", no. It is very difficult for the parents, too. They have to deal with learning to cook and bake gluten free, buy good foods, etc... plus gluten free food is more expensive and often expires faster. But still. You shouldn't be posting about how YOUR life sucks because your daughter can't have gluten. I can't have it (I have Celiac Disease, hence my nick) since I was 8, but it has been a few years and I hardly even notice anymore. My whole family helps a lot. We have gluten free dinners as a family, and eat separately for breakfast and lunch. I am now an avid gluten free baker. Everyone I know prefers a lot of my GF desserts to the "regular" ones. That doesn't mean you need to change your bakeries and whatnot, obviously. Maybe you could start also making some gluten free desserts so your daughter doesn't feel left out, though. (a great recipe book is The Cake Doctor. Find her gluten free book, there are a ton of easy GF recipes.) If you do that, make sure you DO NOT ALLOW CROSS CONTAMINATION. I hope some of these comments help. <3 I wish you, your family, and especially your daughter the best of luck!
Pfft...stop bragging about having a girlfriend.
You're an idiot. GF in her post means "Gluten Free", not Girlfriend. Dumbass...

Why do you have to cut it out of all of your diets, instead of just your daughter's? Also, it's possible to bake gluten-free food.
It is possible to have gluten-free flour, I believe. You could even specialize in making bread for those who have intolerance of gluten.
