you should've told him "no sex" if he buys it.
Oh well...his loss. Give it to him anyway and make him feel like an ass for being so selfish this close to a holiday when he would be receiving gifts anyway. Don't put yourself through the hassle of returning or exchanging it this close to the holiday because he has no common sense.
His loss? If OP does what you want, now he has two consoles. Sorry but that means nothing but good things for him. You MUST be a woman.
And yes, it's selfish but it's also worth taking advantage of stupid people like you that allows people to maximize on wealth and experience.
Not sure I quite understand what you're trying to say. Am I stupid because I'm suggesting that she give him the present she bought for him - which will get returned anyway after the season? That she save herself the hassle of last minute shopping brought on because of her husbands thoughtlessness? Or is it my experience in dealing with something similar in my own life (thus the words of advice I offered) that makes me stupid?
return it and buy him some new games :D those can be expensive!
I would confessed before he bought. You could also return the one he bought, or return the one you bought.
He should know better than to buy stuff for himself one week before Christmas. What a dummy!
congratulations, he now have a whole new reason not to have sex with you.
You should make a rule that neither of you can buy gifts for yourselves when it gets close to Christmas. Works for my family.
I agree with some of the people here. You should have told him. Yes it blew the surprise but you wouldn't be $500 out. When you go to return the one you bought you'll get less money back. Sorry.
Where do you live that you get LESS money back for returning something? That has never happened to me.
it depends how soon you take it back. With games at least, if you wait more than a week or two (can't remember exactly) you can no longer get a full refund but you can trade it in, even with the receipt/unopened. Might be different for consoles though.
i hope you just told him and didn't let him waste $500

I'd end up admitting it and ruining the surprise before he bought it.
Maybe this time you should have just told him?
