Tell you dad to go fu ck himself
Try Unisom. You can get that at just about any convenience or grocery store. It helps a bit, and as long as you're not taking it too many times a week you won't get addicted to it. I only take it if I've gone long enough without sleep that it's messing me up during the day.
dude my moms the EXACT same way.! ugh I hate it so much.! like I won't be able to sleep until like five and I beg her for sleeping pills but she thinks I'll get addicted too. even though my spoiled friend has been taking them since she was 8. FYL and mine :/
No offense, but you look quite young to be a true insomniac. If it's a huge issue for you, ask your mom about finding non-medication solutions. There are lots of alternatives out there.
I'm a teenager and im an insomniac. I dont take sleeping pills because they are easy to get addicted too, especially if sleep fails you often. So i understand where the dad is coming from. If it's *that* hard to fall asleep for me then I take half a Meletonin. It's all natural, unprescribed, it melts away instead of swallowing it, and it's found at Good Nutrition stores or any grocery store. It does the trick without doing heavy duty damage.
don't blame him. sleeping pills are highly addictive, and you must be pretty young to start takin them.
OP, try taking some Melatonin. I had the same problem, but melatonin works better than ambien with less risk.
Actually, melatonin only works if your body doesn't produce any. Insomniacs are rarely helped by melatonin because in most cases melatonin is made but not taken up by the body. OP should ask his doctor for advise, and a referal for a sleeptherapist.
I got same prob xcept I sleep at 2:30
I have trouble winding down at night. OP should try avoiding caffeine in the afternoon and evening, along with getting away from the computer, Playstation, etc about an hour before going to bed. There's also Advil PM which helps "take the edge off" - it works well for me and you can buy it over the counter.
Try marijuana, it's good for sleep. if you don't want to smoke there are healthier ways like vaporizing or eating marijuana foods. sure it is illegal but it has valid medical uses such as this, so give it a try at least. also don't eat shit foods with artificial sweeteners, they're bad for your body and may be a contributing factor to your insomnia. sleeping pills are harmful and addicting, not the best choice here at all.

It does suck, but your dad is right. I'm an insomniac and my doctor prescribed me Lunesta... it's great... I can sleep and whatnot; however, if I don't take it, I CAN'T sleep. Sleeping pill dependance is a real problem. Try exercising to wear yourself our or some other non-sleeping pill options or talk to your doctor... not really a true FML but I know the feeling very well. :/
Ok, those things may help normal people with sleepless nights, but, as an insomniac, I can tell you that those things don't help. We have a real problem that can't simply be reversed by changing our nightly routine.
