I side with the techie here. Assuming he really tried to explain it to you understandably, I really get how he was annoyed and upset by your still not getting it after an hour. His behavior was rude but you probably pissed him off first, you probably weren't his first idiotic user, and we techies can take only so much before we snap. We're humans, too. And, yeah, of course, #13, it's TOTALLY hilarious to call support and piss people off by acting like a moron because they can't get mad and because you can. It's especially reasonable to be an asshole to people whose help might once save your ass. How old are you, 15?
What the tech support guy did was inappropriate and bad customer service. He should have escalated your issue to a level 2 tech or supervisor to get it resolved. I hope you got the tech's name because If I were you, I'd call back and demand to speak to a manager and file a complaint about him.
