Get out there

Today, two of my cousins sat me down and said they wanted to give me an early birthday present. With straight faces, they looked at me and said: "We signed you up for eHarmony, and paid for 12 months." Not only do my cousins think I need help finding a boyfriend, but they think it'll take a year. FML

Well...maybe you'll find someone then? You wont be all "FML" then...

I met my bf on eHarmony and he's a catch. The ads may be lame, but it could work. Your life could be worse than extended family who care enough to spend that kind of coin on you.

You shouldn't take it as an insult, consider it a gesture of kindness that they are so caring of your happiness. Ugh, I sound like a chick now.

Wow. I hate FML's where someone tries to do something nice for you and you choose to take it the wrong way. I mean, you could think: "Wow. They must really want me to be happy if they paid for a whole year on EHarmony. Maybe I'll continue using my own dating methods, but also give it a shot. If I don't find anything, no harm done. If I do, thanks cousins." Instead, you think: "My cousins think I'm a loser and are spending huge amounts of money to tell me so. FML." That's really negative and ungrateful.

Wow....is being single illegal now or something? If I hadn't found my current boyfriend, I probably would have dedicated myself to a life of being single myself, simply because relationships are a bitch to maintain.

#40 actually she can't. Eharmoney doesn't accept applicants looking for same sex ralationships. OP: I say get over it they were being nice. They could have given you a bottle of jack daniels and a shotgun!
