Don't mind the sniffing serial killer under your bed...
That's unfortunate, now you have to burn your house down.
I agree with this as the most effective solution.
Opened ended mysteries huh... Yeah, I hate them too...
It's very hard to feel a 'sniff'. Did you hear actual sniffing noises? Most likely, you felt a small, cold sensation, very briefly, but perhaps a few times, on your hand. In all honesty, it could just be your body/mind messing with you, especially if your hand had been hanging off the edge for some time. But hey, good luck if it is a random cat or something.
Eh, I've always thought it was a pretty indistinct feeling, from a smaller animal anyway, which is why it struck me as oddly specific thing to say (and yes, I know what it feels like - my family has three cats). Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Seems like most people agree with you though.
Wait... what..? Those two comments confused the hell out of me..
Yeah ... Get the Exterminator ... you likely have some rodents in your appartment. Rats are very curious, so they could have sniffed your finger in search for edible things.
I'd invest in a few rat traps if I were you
you sure you weren't dreaming?

Well, what was it!? You can't just leave us hanging!
You either have a ghost of a decease animal or you have a weird burglar.
