While cheating is an awful thing to do, violence is not a reasonable answer.

OP You are an arsehole. Why exactly did you not only do it in the first place, but then tell her? I'm not saying its ok to cheat, its definitely not, I'm just saying that that only reason you would confess to something like that is because it would make YOU feel better to come clean, while she gets hurt because of something YOU did. Any FML that begins with you cheating on someone is a YDI, regardless o what follows. If you can't keep it in your pants you don't deserve anyones sympathy, even if she chops your dick off with a rusty saw

I'm going to go against the tide here and say thank you for being honest. Of course, it would have been better had you discussed having an open relationship in the first place. No one ever ever deserves to be hit with a baseball bat.
